Give Blood, Give Life

Blood Donation, is considered as one of the most noble effort of human towards mankind which he/she can put in his/her lifetime, as the value to few drops of blood cannot be measured in any terms by anyone except than the one who survived due to those few drops from the mouth of death.
But despite of knowing this fact, most of the people are still not actively participating themselves in this noble cause. As this is not a work which can be asked by anyone to do forcefully, people should realize, leaving behind all their myths, that how vital their blood can become for someone whose life can be saved by their little step.
Donating blood may not only benefit the person who received the blood cells but may also improve the health of the donor.

Did You Know?
Blood cannot be manufactured. It can only come as a gift from people.
Thousands of patients need blood transfusion as in the following conditions:
1.Patients suffering from haemorrhage due to casualities, surgical procedures and labours
2.Haemophilic patients
3.Chronic Anaemia
4.Malignancy Thalassemic patients
5.Bone Marrow transplantation
6.Neonatal jaundice and others
Each whole blood donation can help as many as three people. One unit is divided into three parts: red blood cells, platelets, and plasma.
Whole blood donation only takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes. It only takes about an hour out of your busy schedule and it may save a life.
one donation can save three lives, save a life, make a difference.

Health Benefits of Blood Donation:
Free health screening:
Every time you give blood, a medical technician, doctor or nurse will check your blood pressure and give you a free health screening.
Reduce Cancer Risk:
Give blood to help lower your risk of cancer... According to the Miller-Keystone Blood Center, consistent blood donation is associated with lowered risks for cancers including liver, lung, colon, stomach and throat cancers. Risk levels dropped in correlation with how often participants donated blood.
Lower Iron Levels and reduced risk of heart disease:
Giving blood regularly reduces the amount of iron in the bloodstream every time you give blood, which can help reduce the risk of heart disease and helps in reducing the chance of heart attack to one third.
Burns calories:
One can diet or remain fit by donating blood regularly. One pint of blood (450 ml) when donated burns 650 calories in donor’s body.
Replenish Blood:
Help your body function more efficiently by allowing it to replenish your blood supply regularly. When you donate blood, your body replaces the blood volume within 48 hours of donation, and all of the red blood cells you lose during donation are completely replaced within four to eight weeks. This process of replenishment can help your body stay healthy and work more efficiently and productively.
Satisfaction:
No doubt the first and foremost advantage of donating blood is the exalted feeling of saving someone's life.
Blood Donation giving the wonderful feeling of saving someone's life.
Acts of altruism make you feel good! Giving feels great, especially when you understand that one hour of your time and one pint of blood can save so many people.
