Be A Hero And Stop Street Harassment

Stop Street Harassment!
Some guys act like complete animals when a woman walks by.
She completed her shopping and as she came out of mall; a creepy guy got close to her grabbed her by the arm and put his hand on her chest, felt, grabbed her then released her seconds later and continued walking as if nothing happened.
She was left stunned; this made her so scared, after a few seconds she came to her sense and made evil supplication: "May you lose your hand," she wiped off her tears and moved away from there. He'd heard that girl is cursing him and those curse words had followed him.
So much time had passed he forgot about this incident as it was his habit. He faced retribution for his deed; he lost his hand along with half arm. A curse works whether you believe in it or not.
Street harassment is a major problem for women (the harassment can be delivered visually, verbally, or physically). It is an unwanted behaviour that is disrespectful, inappropriate and threatening to women in public places. It limit women's movement in public and make girls and women to be fearful of men.

Street harassment!
Harassment takes place not only on streets also in stores, elevators, malls, on bus stop etc. Women are harassed by men, sometimes very aggressively. Women find male street harassment or face gender-bullying; when ever they step out from home. They are harassed by unwanted staring, groping, leering, whistling, catcalling, sexist commenting, hooting, hissing, propositioning, following and assaulting, embarrassing, humiliating, exposing, threatening and more.

Gender-based street harassment makes public places unfriendly, frightening and dangerous for many females and that make them feel vulnerable, intimidated, embarrassed and attacked.
Many women think twice before going out. Street harassment has mad women to feel unsafe and less confident when they are in public places. Street harassment limit their freedom, they feel insecure. When they wishes to go out in public anywhere requires company of someone else because the more a woman is in public alone, the more likely it is she will be harassed.

I Will Speak Up, I Will Stand Up:
No one has to do everything but, everyone has to do something. We all can do our part. Individually we can talk about street harassment openly with our friends, family, coworkers, classmates, children and neighbours of awareness sake. At home; it's the duty of parents to talk and educate youth to know appropriate and respectful ways to deal with females. In school teachers have to teach students to treat women fairly and respectfully. Women should discuss their ideas or stories regarding street harassment at home because men in particular are often surprised to learn the ways in which their mothers, sisters, aunts, wives and daughters adapt to this problem.
Most men live in ignorance, there is need to educate them; how they respectfully interact with women. The long term solution is to make street harassment culturally unacceptable. We as a society need to work together against street harassment.
